Embrace Eco-Friendly Firing with Olympic's Medallion Series

Join us in our commitment to environmental responsibility with our energy-efficient Medallion Series. These kilns feature 3" brick insulation, which enhances heat retention and offers superior energy efficiency.

With kilns equipped with electronic controllers, firing your kiln becomes not only a breeze but also incredibly precise. Go green while saving green with the economical choice of the Medallion Artist Kiln.

Our Medallion Artist Series kilns are designed to be fired daily, offering consistently high performance heating and meticulously controlled cooling for perfect firings every time.

State-of-the-Art Solid State Relay

Invest in the heart of your kiln with a Solid State Relay (SSR). It's a critical component that efficiently manages the power cycling of the kiln's elements, capable of handling substantial power loads with lightning-fast responsiveness.

The solid state relays outperform standard mechanical relays, offering impeccable temperature control, extending the lifespan of your kiln's elements, and delivering significant energy savings. Unlike their mechanical counterparts with moving parts susceptible to wear and tear, solid state relays are built to last, ensuring long-term savings and peace of mind.

Tailored Controller Selection

We maintain close relationships with esteemed digital controller manufacturers to offer you nothing but the best in performance and accuracy for your firings. Our kilns offer a variety of controllers, allowing you to choose the one that best suits your needs:

  • Genesis by Bartlett Instruments: This touch-screen controller boasts extended functionality compared to traditional button-based models. It can store up to 12 different programs, each with up to 32 segments. Adding, skipping, or adjusting temperature segments is effortless with this smart controller. It's the perfect choice if you're seeking advanced features with straightforward programming.

  • V6-CF by Bartlett Instruments: With its numerical keypad and multiple buttons, the V6-CF allows operators to create up to four custom firing programs, each with up to eight segments, and two custom firing programs with 16 segments. On-the-fly adjustments, preheating, and a Cone Fire mode make it a versatile option. Best used for ceramic firings.

  • RTC-1000 by Bartlett Instruments: The RTC-1000 controller supports up to six custom firing programs, each with up to eight segments. For complex firings that involve the "ramp-hold" feature, it can accommodate up to 16 segments. You can make real-time changes during your firing to ensure your pieces turn out just the way you want. Ideal for glass firings.

  • 3K-CF by Bartlett Instruments: While the 3K-CF controller gets the job done with the ability to store up to four custom firing profiles, it lacks the flexibility and advanced features of other controllers. We recommend upgrading to one of the available options to maximize your kiln's potential. The controller is the kiln's central component, so investing in a more feature-rich controller will pay dividends in functionality and user satisfaction.

Enhance Safety and Quality with the Orton Vent Master Downdraft Vent System

For both ceramic and glass kilns, we strongly recommend venting to the outside. This simple measure enhances safety by removing toxic byproducts that are released during firings. The Orton Vent Master employs patented Downdraft Venting, enhancing airflow and ensuring even temperatures throughout the kiln chamber.

This method also extends the life of your kiln's elements and other metals, ensuring your kiln remains in optimal condition, and reducing long-term repair costs. Many of our customers report that their investment in a venting system has significantly extended the life of their kiln, making it a wise choice for any serious artist.

Optional Lid Lifter for Effortless Operation

Dealing with the weight of kiln lids can be a strenuous task, especially with larger kilns. Our optional lid lifter makes operating the kiln lid effortless, adding ease and grace to your firing experience without any negative impact on the kiln itself.

While our kilns are manageable without the lid lifter, it's a joy to use and simplifies your daily studio operations, making it a valuable addition for your convenience.

Improve Mobility with the Stand and Caster Wheels

The standard kiln order includes a stationary stand designed to support the kiln's weight, heat, and shape. However, attempting to move your kiln without caster wheels can be a challenge and risk damaging the stand or, worse, the kiln itself.

Opting for a stand with caster wheels ensures a smooth and straightforward process when you need to relocate your kiln. It eliminates concerns about running out of space in your studio, allowing you to tuck your kiln away in a corner when not in use. And if you prefer to move your kiln around different rooms, it's essentially a necessity. When ordering with a vent system, be sure to detach the vent before moving the kiln.

Enhanced Safety with the Power Interrupt Switch / Automatic Lid Shutoff

The power interrupt switch is a valuable safety feature that disconnects power from the kiln's heating elements when the lid is opened, and restores power when the lid is closed. If you anticipate needing to open the kiln during firing, we highly recommend adding this feature for added safety and control.

Dual Media Lid Element for Versatility

With the dual media lid element, your kiln becomes a versatile powerhouse. You can fire ceramics and indulge your passion for glass fusing, all with the same kiln. Don't limit yourself; keep your creative options open by working with both mediums. Many of our customers find that having a dedicated kiln for glass is the way to go, but with this feature, you can save both time and money by making your kiln a versatile all-in-one solution.

Enhance Temperature Control with Multi-Zone Thermocouples

Our kilns feature a zone control that allows the controller to regulate temperature rise evenly among different zones. If the top of the kiln lags behind, the controller will adjust the rate of the lower two zones to ensure even heating. This feature is particularly useful when firing tightly packed kilns with numerous shelves. It also benefits artists who create sculptures that use the full height of the kiln, ensuring an even firing and consistent results.

Furniture Kit: A Must-Have Kiln Accessory

Furniture kits are essential accessories for any kiln owner. Firing directly on the kiln floor can be detrimental to both your kiln and your pieces. Furniture kits allow you to stack multiple shelves for maximum usable space, making it particularly valuable when firing smaller pieces.
